ADMISSION EXAM DETAILS

  • When is the schedule of the Admission Exam?
   It is conducted annually from February to May in Manila and in the provinces.

  • What do I need to enroll in the one-year Certificate in IT training program?
   You must be an IT course or a non-IT course graduate with high IT aptitude.
   You must be proficient in spoken and written English.
   You must pass the UP ITTC Admission Exam.

  • Can graduates of vocational degrees or high school graduates enroll?
   No. The UP ITTC accepts graduates with college degrees only.
 
  • What is the Admission Exam coverage?
The Admission Exam is an aptitude test. It consists of four parts:
   Verbal Proficiency
   Reading Comprehension
   Mathematics
   Logical Reasoning
 
  • How long is the Admission Exam?
   The exam takes three hours.

  • What are the application requirements?
   UP ITTC Application Form
   Original Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG)
   2x2 colored ID picture (2 pieces)
   PhP 150 (for Metro Manila exams) or PhP 100 (for provincial exams)
   You may pass the requirements thru fax/email and bring the fee on the exam.
 
  • When is the registration deadline?
   At least 3 days before the exam.

  • How much is the training fee?
   The full-year course costs PhP 22,000 per quarter, plus miscellaneous fees (see next FAQ).
 
  • Are there additional fees?
   Yes. Miscellaneous fees may be collected for course materials and textbooks, ID, library, and other facility privileges. The total miscellaneous fees for one year total around PhP 22,000.


OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • On what days and time are the UP ITTC Certificate in IT courses held?
   Classes in the full-time program run from Monday to Friday at 10am to 5pm.
 
  • Do I have to maintain a grade average?
   Yes, you have to maintain a grade average to stay enrolled in the UP ITTC.
   Scholars will also have to maintain a higher grade average.
 
  • Is the UP ITTC Certificate in IT equivalent to a college or university diploma?
   No. It is a post-baccalaureate non-degree certificate program.
 
  • Can the UP ITTC Certificate in IT training program subjects be credited towards a post-graduate degree?
   No.
 
  • Can I increase my chances of getting an IT job after graduating from UP ITTC?
   Although we offer no guarantee, we are very confident that you will. We have a well-designed curriculum, proficient instructors, top-notch facilities, partnerships with the IT industry, and solid support from UP and JICA.

  • Can I get an IT job in Japan after graduating from UP ITTC?
   Again, no guarantees. But if you pass at least the PhilNITS-FE exam, you will have a very good chance.

  • Can I take only the Japanese Language (Nihongo) course?
   Yes. Classes are held from Monday to Friday at 8am to 10am. The fee is PhP 10,000 per quarter. Enrollees do not need to take the Admission Exam.
  
  • Can I just take a specific subject like Computer Security and not the whole quarter?
   Yes. Courses in the full-time program are open to part-time students. But enrollees still need to pass the Admission Exam. 
 
  • Do you offer vendor-specific trainings like Microsoft, Cisco, etc.?

  • Are there any discounts for teachers and government employees?
   Discounts are offered to enrollees in the short courses only.
